Mushroom Grow Bags

We currently only supply our products to a few European based wholesale companies. The product range consists of Rye based bags, Rice based bags and Oyster bags. Although we make our products for the sole use of growing edibles, we have read of success with all suitable spores. Instructions are below.

Grow Bag Instructions.

Oyster Mushrooms begining to fruit
in Fungipharm straw bag. Oyster Straw Bags
There is very little to do, as they already contain mycelium. We have had great success by leaving in the shed during spring. 22-24c should be fine.

Rice/Rye Based Bags
1) Use on day of purchase. When you use your grow bags, disinfect your hands and work surfaces. Wiping the bag down will not hurt. Now give the bag a good shake, wipe injector site with swab and inject with your chosen spores (heat the needle first with a naked flame to sterilize).

2) Keep in a dark place at around (cubensis)28c. Within a week or so, you will start to see mycelium forming. Giving the bag a little shake will cause no harm. With optimum conditions, in 2-4 weeks the mycelium should be constant throughout the bag.

3) You can fruit in the bag by dropping temperature to (cubensis)22-24c and exposing to regular light source. But you will get less than by using the method below.

4) Disinfect your hands and work surfaces. Cut the top off the grow bag and place mycelium block into a bowl of ice cold water. Leave for 8-12 hours to rehydrate. Do not leave for any longer or else it will drown.

5) Disinfect your hands, work surfaces and a plastic box/container with lid. Place some damp soil / vermiculite into the box. Place the mycelium block onto soil / vermiculite (If you did not follow step 4, spray with water, but do not drown it) and replace lid. Place somewhere warm and exposed to light. Within a week you should see pinheads forming. If you can see even a little condensation do not bother respraying until you have picked them.
